Tilly in a Contemplative Mood at Target Field

So beautiful.

Twins Game #7, Twins Beat the Angels 7-2

We had great seats--first row in the left field bleachers, just over Delmon Young's left shoulder. Tilly had fun being social with everyone around us, and we actually sat in the same spot for the entire game without wandering the concourse.

This was our 7th game together, Till's back to 4-3. I think the game she attended with her mother the Twins won, too, so she's 5-3 this year. I think she was 3-2 last year.

Oh well. That park is fantastic. It's just so much fun to go to a game there with her. Next year we'll have a different strategy when she's two and has to have a ticket. Maybe a fewer number of games but better seats for all of them.

Amishland 2010, Part 2

We took a day and went back to all our favorite Amish vendors. I think next year we'll be in the market for a table and chairs for Tilly. It was a lovely day.

Crawford County Fair

Tilly went on her first Ferris Wheel ride on Sunday August 15 at the Crawford County Fair in Wisconsin. I am not sure who was more scared on that hillbilly whirling ride, me or her. The carnies were all chain smoking, and you could tell they were literally counting the minutes til they could wrap it up and hit the road. So lesson learned: never show up at a fair in its waning hour of life and expect the same experience as you'd get, say, Friday night.

Amishland 2010

We stayed at a lovely farm, Upper Place Cottage, near Gays Mills WI. I know Tilly will kick my butt for showing the photo of hers, but she's such a peanut. The place was beautiful...miles of trails, and it's own little creek. Very peaceful.

Ely 3

Some more classic moments from Ely 2010. We'll be back!

Tilly, Meet Louise

We went out to Chapel Point at Camp Widgiwagan to visit Louise. I am sure she knows that Tilly was there to meet her.

It's Been A While

Sorry it's been so long. We spent the first full week of August up in Ely, back to our normal annual tradition. Emma's Uncle Larry was in town from Australia, and it was pretty special to have him there with us. Grandma Madeleine, Uncle Phil and Aunt Amanda were all there too.

We celebrated Emma's birthday (or, rather, the anniversary of her 29th birthday) on Monday August 2. Pat finally gave Emma the engagement ring he never managed to do right 5 years ago.

There wasn't anything too crazy, just hanging out, hiking, fishing, boating, and visiting Louise at Camp Widgi.
