Tilly Took These with My Phone | 07.18.12

This is the first photo Tilly ever took, I believe.

She took the rest of these at the Burntside Lodge, using my iPhone.  She's a natural at composition, and she was exploring her subject matter options too...it was hilarious and mind blowing to watch.  I need to remember to give her my phone and let her loose more often.

I am so, so proud of her.  I know every father is (or should be) biased toward his baby girl...should think of her as the biggest, rarest diamond ever unleashed on the Earth.  I cannot help but feel Tilly is simply destined to change the world in some way.  There's no pressure because she's going to do it just by being herself.  But I am more in love with her every day, more amazed, more satisfied, more hopeful every day.  She's an amazing, amazing person already.

A Week in Ely | 07.15.12

Encapsulating a week in one of the most beautiful parts of the world doesn't come easily.  Tilly and I hiked every day in a beautiful national forest.  We visited Louise, had dinner at the corner table at Burntside, had a visit from Carol and George...and almost un-noticed, we crept another week closer to Frank's arrival.  Next year he'll be there with us.  If he's like his sister, he'll be taking his first steps in Ely (at nine months of age...vs. in Australia where Tilly first walked at nine months and 5 days).

July 4 in 'The Park' | 07.04.12

Stinking hot.  Community.  Watching Tilly grow and thrive in real time.  Irony.  Surreality.  Juxtaposed vectors.  Independence.  Drinks.  Conversation.  Looking back, looking ahead.

Katie's Party | 06.28.12

A good time was had by all.  I will just leave it at that.
