We've been together 5 years, and in that amount of time with anyone--friend, coworker, sibling, spouse--one can sometimes run the risk of thinking they have the other figured out.
I have learned differently today. I have seen sides of Emma that I haven't seen before, and that fill me with pride and awe.
And what that makes me think about is the adventure that lies before all three of us now...me getting to watch Matilda get out and open those eyes in the world, seeing it freshly through her eyes...me getting to watch Emma take on new roles...and maybe most fascinatingly, the new sides of myself that I know will be uncovered in the next 18-50 years of life on this planet with baby girl.

ReplyDeleteWe are so excited to meet Matilda! She has wonderful parents. The kids call her their "cousin" and Oscar would like to bring her to his sharing day sometime (it's on Mondays for future reference).
