Epidural In Full Force, Pitocin on the Way...

We got here at 2 am...the let us in for observation with no promises we could stay.  By 5 am there'd been no movement on the 3cm and 75% effacement that was there when we arrived, so they were considering sending us home.

Then from 5 am til 715 am, the contractions kicked in gear, coming fast and furious, up to 1 minute 10 seconds every 1.5 to 2 minutes, and that got her to 4 cm.

It's becoming a blur with no sleep since Sunday at 7 am, but after 4 cm, we were officially admitted...then came an IV and the life saving epidural.  Emma was in a lot of pain, but she was incredibly tough and brave.  Like I have said to a few of you, I always knew she was tough but she really really proved it this morning.

As I type, the epidural is in full effect, and she's very comfortable compared with where she was 2 hours ago.  They're beginning to drip the Pitocin right this instant, and the nurse says Matilda should be here by this evening.

That's it for now, I can't wait to meet her.

Pat
